AllTrails

Available On: App Store & Google Play

Price: Free Version or Pro Version for $35.99/Year

AllTrails is an app for outdoor fitness lovers. Search and explore nearby trails for hiking, biking, and running. This app helps you find the perfect one to fit your needs, such as being dog-friendly, wheelchair and stroller accessible, or full of scenic attractions. Each trail has a difficulty rating, description, user reviews, full map, and directions to the trailhead. With over 350,000 trails on the app, you’ll likely find just what you’re looking for. The Pro version includes all these, plus additional features like downloadable maps for offline use, wrong turn navigation alerts, and printable maps.

Planet Fitness Workouts

Price: Free Version or Access Full Library of Workouts with Planet Fitness Black Card Membership

Hybrid gym memberships have become a huge trend this year. They allow the flexibility of working out in person at a gym or at home via app or video. Planet Fitness Workouts is an app that maximizes this hybrid format. It offers an extensive library of premade workouts from trainers on staff. You can find tutorials for exercises and equipment to ensure proper use and form. This app allows you to track your workouts and exercise minutes to monitor your progress and consistency. If you have a Planet Fitness Black Card Membership, you can access their complete library of workouts.

Freeletics

Available On: App Store & Google Play

Price: Free Version or Various Paid Subscriptions from $34.99-79.99

Freeletics is a home workout app that lets you exercise with a digital personal trainer. The free version includes a small library of High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) workouts, various exercises, audio sessions, and an online community. If you sign up for a subscription, you have access to even more. Subscription packages include a digital trainer that sends customized workouts based on your needs. Additional coaches are available by bundling training with their nutrition or mind and body packages.

JEFIT

Available On: App Store & Google Play

Price: Free Version or Elite Versions ($12.99 Monthly or $69.99 Yearly)

JEFIT allows you to plan and log workouts using an extensive exercise library within the app. You can monitor the sets, repetitions, weight used, and rest time of each strength exercise. Integrate a smartwatch for more ease of use and tracking rest time. The Elite version eliminates ads and includes additional features, such as premium workout plans, progress charts and analytics, and advanced tracking features. If using data and logs helps you stay on track, then you might enjoy this app.

Sweatcoin

Available On: App Store & Google Play

Price: Free Version or Premium Version ($24.99/Year)

Sweatcoin converts your steps to a currency you can use for purchases in their in-app marketplace. Every 1,000 steps will earn you a Sweatcoin. These coins can then be spent on items like phone cases, headphones, gift cards, and more. You can even use your Sweatcoins as donations to various charities. The premium version allows you to accumulate double the amount of Sweatcoins for every 1,000 steps, access exclusive offers in the marketplace, and will double your donation to charities. This app adds a little financial motivation to your daily activity.

It’s hard to make an excuse for exercise when there are so many apps to choose from. Find one that fits your personality and lifestyle. Then, work to keep fitness a priority all year long.
